So the new Album from Creed came out today. I was really a casual fan of them growing up, and that seems ot have been as good course to take with this album.
There's 5 solid hard rock tracks on the 12 track album and 4 of them lead the album. There's a slower, song in the middle called "Away in silence" that i like, and i don't mind the current single "rain", which is track 5. But other than that i just get a more feeling of "it's missing something" from the remainder of the album. There is too many an occasion where the guitar solo is forced into the end so there can be a focus on the vocals and lyrics. I usually wouldnt mind this, but it just reminds me of the old days of Creed where Scott Stapp (the lead singer) refused to let Mark Tremonti (The Guitarist) solo except for on one or 2 songs each album. there's numerous songs on this latest album that would've benefitted from a Tremonti solo, i could name abotu 3 right now if i wasnted too.
Alter Bridge (the band that rose from Creed's ashes in 2003) is on indefinite hiatus until creed stopos touring and Tremonti, the bassist and Scott Phillips (the drummer) can work with Myles Kennedy ( Alter Bridge's lead singer) for the next AB album.
Alter birdge is mroe about the passion and art in hard rock, which i like more.
Overall thoughts on the creed album: "B". It's passable, but i'm underwhelmed
