Back for another bonus post. this could also go in the weekly update, but i'm doing it here.
So the same people who send the residents in my dorm e-mails about shoes in the hall and stuff dont notify the students of things that are a bti more inconveniencing. Case in point, someone from maintenance put a sign up on the door of the guy's bathroom closest to me saying that itll be closed from 12-2 today. That's fine, and its only a minor inconvenience cause there's another one at the other end of the hall. Still though, i woulda liked even a short e-mail from Maintenance or the higher-ups in my dorm notifying the general populus in my dorm of this.
I believe that if you're doing somethign that gonna impact people, you should notify the masses that are involved. Granted, alot of the time that's nigh impossible to do. But in something like the above case, it ain't too hard to send an e-mail saying " this bathroom on the 2nd floor of this dorm will be closed from 12-2 for this reason".
It keeps the people informed. IF the people are informed they're happy. If you dont inform the people, you are more likely to be able to get away with shady stuff (this will be explained in a bit more detail in the weekly update). But when the people find out abotu the shady stuff, they wont be happy.
I'm not syaing that every single time one of the higher ups on campus does somethin that impacts a segment of the studnets for a portion of time, they should notify the segment, but that the higher-ups should do it most of the time and not sit on their butts sending out e-mails that students get every year.
Just my 2 cents, feel free to comment.
