Speaking of coffee, you might wanna get a drink or snack or something before you read this. This is a long one, just to warn you all. so long, its gonna be 2 posts. This is part 1
Anyway, I'm gonna get to the meat and potatoes of this post in a sec, but first some general stuff that doesnt really fit in to the other stuff i'm gonna blog about, and i didnt wanna do another mini-post about this stuff. so onto the general housekeeping.
General Houskeeping-ness:
Much much congratulations goes out to one of my followers, my good freind Kaitlin F. She's a wonderful and awesome person, who i feel very lucky to have know and she's gotten into a couple of the Med schools she's applied too. She's like a little (yeah, she's younger than me, its weird) sister to me, and she's had amazing skill at getting into med schools so far. So Kaitlin, if you read this, which i think you will, much much congrats comes your way. I could not be more proud of you
2nd-ly in the general houskeeping kick i have a quick music reccomendation if anyone is a fan of classical yet slightly more modern piano music, look into Yunus, he's a Dutch Pianist who i found out about on Audiosurf, which is featuring him this week. link to his page, where you can download the first 3 tracks of his album as well as with links to places where you can get the full thing for free: www.yunus-piano.de Just click on the music tab on the side. I used the second linnk after the free mp3s for the first 3 tracks to get the album. Now striaght piano music is not my thing, but i really dig this guy and what he does. so even if you normall skim over this music section, check him out.
3rd up in this section is acouple thigna botu my life here at earlham. I'm part of the amnesty international student group and we;re doing a week of Action and Awareness for Haiti in conjunction with the Progressive studnet union on campus from Feb 22nd to the 26th. we have various events [planned for each eveing and a dance planned for that firday. there will be little siblings in town so, those of you who have beeen unnerved by the abundance of rap, grinding and obnoxiously loud music at all the other dances in comstock this year, you should know that the music will be better and the amnesty people there will make sure its not too loud. Unrelated to the amnesty thing, but related to Earlham is that the freeboxes here where people put clothes they dont want anymore, are awesome. I got a pair of warmup pants that are a bit baggy, but if i cut the legs of the pants off at a good place, they'll be fine, from the freebox last night.
4thly. I hate to end this section on a down note, but if anyone who reads this could please keep my friend Dan from Arizona in your thoughts. He's a fellow transformer reviewer on youtube and is a close freind of mine in that community and he's always been supportive of my work. All that and he's a guy who's several years older than most of us here at EC. The reason why i request you all keep him in your thoughts and prayers, is that his mother died a couple weeks ago, and she was the one who got him back into his hobby of collecting. I know all of you could care less about transformers, but this guy is a good freind of mine over in the community, and it would mean alot if you'd keep him in your thoughts.
